Jim Crow Laws

Reading the Jim Crow Laws gives a glimpse at some of the unreasonable restrictions there were to keep segregation in place. The thing that stand out to me the most about the laws is they all seem to be the same idea; whites and blacks can't use the same: parks, restaurants, playing fields, schools, etc. All the laws are very similar, all working toward the over all goal of keeping whites and blacks apart. For what purpose? To waste money on more parks, restaurants, playing fields and schools? Since we need more to make sure no whites and blacks come in contact. The Jim Crow Laws were just stupid. People were so close minded back then (not that all people are open minded now but we are making progress). 

I am very glad we are done with segregation now. I would have to be one of those teenagers attending all the protest and marches, and then when would I have time to do my Comp homework? :)
